This camp was started in the fall semester of 2002 because of the many children who had attended Camp Koinonia in the past and had “aged out” of that program. There are very few opportunities for young adults over the age of 21 with multiple disabilities to engage inappropriate leisure/recreation programs. The program involves more than 50 participants and more than 70 University of Tennessee students. The UT students plan, organize, and conduct the entire weekend program during the fall semester.
This year, Koinonia Retreat will be held on November 6-9 at the Clyde M. York 4-H Center in Crossville, TN. The participant fee for this year’s camp will be $200.00 and is to be mailed in with the application to our office at The University of Tennessee.
The Koinoina Reatreat 2014 application will be available soon on our website! Please download the attachment, fill out the information, and send it in to our office with the camp fee.
